From Broken Slates to Newfie Jokes: 150 Years of Canadian Women’s Comedy by Dr. Diana Solomon and Dr. Sean Zwagerman

How has Canadian women's humor changed over the past 150 years? We will investigate and take a deeper look at some of the issues involved in studying comedy and address some particular issues faced by female comic practitioners. We will also look at two iconic Canadian examples: Anne of Green Gables and Mary Walsh.
