Join us in a conversation about student mental health. We all know how stressed and anxious students can feel. At Empower The Future, we frequently receive questions like: "How do I manage working a part-time job and going to school full-time?" or "Is post-secondary school THAT stressful?" So we decided to help them.

Students are welcome to engage in a conversation with individuals about mental health. Learn about different mental illnesses, symptoms, and treatments.

  • How to help someone who has a mental illness and/or is stressed
  • What are the types of stress situations that occur in post-secondary school/high school
  • Hear experiences from people who have mental illnesses or are in high stress situations
  • Develop skills to help manage stress such as meditation, coloring, physical activity etc.

Empower The Future is excited to be a part of the Burnaby Festival of Learning! Undergraduates will be speaking about their post-secondary experiences. 

There will be:

  • Undergraduates speaking about their post-secondary experiences
  • Free drinks and snacks
  • Free resources packages
  • Prizes

The event will take place in the library's Program Room.

This event is free, but registration is required to ensure you have a spot.

After having our Life After High School workshop, we realized how stressed and anxious students are. We frequently received questions like "How do I manage working a part-time job and going to school full-time?" or "Is post-secondary school THAT stressful?" So, we decided to help them!

Students are welcome to engage in a conversation with individuals about mental health! Be sure to register!

This is a free event supported by the Simon Fraser University, City of Burnaby, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and University of British Columbia - Science Undergraduate Society.
